Iśāvāsya Upanishad
The Upanishads are the most subtle and profound of all philosophies and form the end-part of the Vedas, the knowledge of Self.
Ishavasya Upanishad consists of 18 mantras or verses that unravel the themes of ones evolution which include dynamic action, renunciation, meditation, the drama of realisation, and more.
We will be using the Choice Upanishads which contains the Ishavasya verses with the interpretation and commentary by Swami A Parthasarathy.
The Upanishads are a timeless monument of the Himalayas, an uncreated knowledge of spiritual wisdom. Many of the greatest sages and philosophers of India or the world have been inspired by the Upanishads and written commentaries to explain the universal truths they embody, such as Gargi Vachaknavi, Sri Aurbindo Vivekanada and Adi Shankara.
Many Western philosophers regard the Upanishads as a sublime and scientific exposition of the Ultimate Reality, God. Aldous Huxley, Albert Einstein and Henry Thoreau are but a few.
There are a hundred and eight Upanishads and we will be looking at one of the most important, the Ishavasya Upanishad, often spelt Iśāvāsya
Join us on this exciting journey of self-discovery and spiritual realisation as we unravel the mysterious wisdom of Ishavasya. Understanding the knowledge of your Self is the key to ultimate happiness.
